From 8th to 12th June 2015, BAEL meets CSI!
For a week of linguistics and crime, we welcome our special guest Dr. Alison Johnson (University of Leeds), expert in forensic linguistics and former police officer. She will be with us for the entire theme week, granting us some fascinating insights into the world of forensic linguistics. The following events will take place:
Research talk: Corpus Linguistics and Big Data: Researching Pragmatics in Historical Trial Records of the 18th and 19th Century

Teaching sessions on Authorship Attribution and Police Interviewing

The research talk on Wednesday is open to the general public. The teaching sessions are part of our M.A. Applied Linguistics program, but additional places are available for whoever is interested.
