Lump-sum energy price allowance for students Lump-sum energy price allowance for students is available now.

At the end of 2022, the German government approved the announced one-time lump-sum energy price allowance of €200 for students.

Students must apply for the payout. According to current plans set by federal and state governments, applications via the website https://www.einmalzahlung200.de will be possible from mid-March onwards. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has already compiled information on the application process plus answers to frequently asked questions on this website. Additionally, a dedicated hotline (+49 800 2623 003) has been set up to help answer specific questions. Lines are open Tuesday to Thursday between 8 am and 4 pm and Fridays from 8 am to noon.

https://www.einmalzahlung200.de/eppsg-de/faq-haeufige-fragen-und-antworten provides information about the criteria to apply. In principle, everyone who was considered an enrolled (doctoral) student as of December 1, 2022 is entitled to the allowance. Auditors, however, are not able to apply. Be aware that you will also have to create a BundID account to prove your identity.

To submit an application, respective (doctoral) students will be assigned a personal code and PIN, which can be retrieved from the University of Bonn’s Studienservice (https://www.studienservice.uni-bonn.de) from the middle of March.
