Be sure to take advantage of all of the resources that the university has to offer. There are many programs set up to support students during their time in Bonn. Here you can find information on external resources and support offered by different institutions of the University of Bonn, as well institutions outside of the university.

 

asta

 

The AStA (Allgemeine Studierendenausschuss, or General Student's Committee) is a university-wide student representative body that supports students. You can find many helpful resources here, including help finding student housing, financial aid advice, student clubs, and services such as notarization of official documents. BASIS

 

BASIS is a platform that allows students to do things such as sign up for classes, download proof of enrollment at the university, check grades and register for the exam periods. To login with your student login details, click here.

Certificate of Competence

The university's International Office awards the Certificate of International Competence to students engaged in extra-curricular activities and intercultural exchange. Find information on the certificate here. For more opportunities offered by the International Office, click here.

 

Citaviklein

The reference management software Citavi is a citation program that is available for free for students of the University of Bonn. Find information on Citavi and how to install it here

 

 

ecampus

eCampus is a tool used by both students and professors at the university to organize coursework, office hour registration, and events. Click here to login to your account with your student login details.

HRZklein

The HRZ (Hochschulrechenzentrum) offers additional courses for students on topics such as statistics and data analysis with Excel, SPSS, etc. You can find information on the courses that are currently offered here.

Linguist List

An important source for linguists is the international linguistics community Linguist List. The newsletter keeps you updated about everything currently going on in the academic community.

Schreiblabor klein

The "Schreiblabor" of the University of Bonn offers workshops and office hours to help you improve you writing skills and support you during the writing process. For further information, have a look at their website.

ULB klein

The ULB (Universitäts und Landesbibliothek Bonn) offers general introductions to the library and work with Bonnus, the library search engine, as well as workshops and tutorials on Citavi. You can find more information here.

The Language Technology and Data Analysis Laboratory (LADAL) is a free, support infrastructure in the area of digital and computational humanities established by the School of Languages and Cultures at the University of Queensland in 2019.
